Safeguarding the Rights and Future of Every Child
At Khalisady Anubhab Welfare Association (KAWA), child protection is a fundamental pillar of our work. We are deeply committed to creating a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment where every child can grow free from violence, exploitation, and neglect.
Over the years, KAWA has partnered with government and civil society initiatives to address critical issues such as child marriage, child labour, trafficking, and abuse. As an active partner of the CHILDLINE 1098 Project, we provide a 24×7 emergency response service for children in distress across North 24 Parganas, rescuing and rehabilitating vulnerable children through coordinated efforts with police, CWCs, and other stakeholders.

Our association with “Just Right for Children” alliance  further reinforces our mission to make India a child marriage-free country by 2030. We work across 14 blocks to engage religious leaders, local authorities, and communities in raising awareness and preventing over 500+ child marriages to date.

Through our Anti-Trafficking Program supported by My Choices Foundation, and school and village-level interventions, we build community vigilance by forming Village Rakshaks and Nodal Teachers to act as first responders against trafficking and abuse.
KAWA also runs awareness programs, life skill sessions, and adolescent empowerment initiatives to educate children about their rights and equip them to speak out against violence.

Our mission is clear: no child should suffer in silence. Through advocacy, education, rescue, and rehabilitation, KAWA remains committed to protecting childhoods and securing brighter futures for every child we serve.
