Empowering Communities for Sustainable Growth
At Khalisady Anubhab Welfare Association (KAWA), livelihood promotion is one of our core focus areas aimed at fostering self-reliance, financial independence, and dignity of work among marginalized and rural populations. Recognizing the pressing need for sustainable income opportunities in rural areas, KAWA has designed and implemented a range of skill-based and income-generating programs tailored to local needs and resources.
Our livelihood initiatives primarily target women, youth, and underserved families, equipping them with vocational skills, entrepreneurship training, and financial literacy. We offer hands-on training in various trades such as ready-made garment production, paper bag making, handicrafts, tailoring, and agro-based activities. These programs not only help participants acquire practical skills but also build their confidence and enable them to explore self-employment or small business ventures.
KAWA partners with government bodies such as the West Bengal Women Development Undertaking and the Society for Self Employment for Unemployed Youth, leveraging their support to provide certified training, seed capital assistance, and market linkages. We also encourage home-based enterprises and cooperative models, particularly for women who face mobility challenges.
As a result of our efforts, many trained individuals have begun earning regular incomes, supporting their families, and contributing to local economic development. A few have even established their own micro-enterprises, becoming role models for others in their communities.
Through our livelihood promotion programs, KAWA is committed to transforming lives by creating pathways to sustainable economic empowerment—one skill, one entrepreneur, and one household at a time.
