Since May 2023, Khalisady Anubhab Welfare Association (KAWA) has proudly partnered with JUST RIGHT For Children to implement the "Access to Justice for Children" project across 14 blocks in the North 24 Parganas district. This initiative is dedicated to promoting child rights and protecting vulnerable children from exploitation, abuse, and neglect.

At the heart of the project lies a bold and urgent resolution—to make India a child marriage-free nation by 2030. With this vision, KAWA has been working tirelessly on the ground, identifying at-risk children, raising awareness among communities, and actively intervening in cases of child marriage.

In addition to tackling child marriage, the project also addresses other critical child protection issues such as child labour and child trafficking. Through consistent community outreach, advocacy, and collaboration with local authorities, the programme has been able to create a strong protective network for children.

The impact has been significant. Over the past two years, more than 500 child marriages have been successfully prevented in North 24 Parganas. This success would not have been possible without the active cooperation and support of government stakeholders, law enforcement agencies, religious leaders, and community influencers, all of whom have stood united with KAWA in this vital mission.

The Access to Justice for Children project continues to empower communities, protect childhoods, and uphold the rights of every child—paving the way for a safer, fairer, and more just society.
