Empowering Rural Women through Skill Development and Vocational Training
Khalisady Anubhab Welfare Association has always believed that local capacity building and empowerment are the cornerstones of self-sufficiency, self-reliance, and economic growth in rural communities. With this vision, we have been consistently working to provide rural women with meaningful opportunities for personal development, skill enhancement, and livelihood generation.
From the very beginning, we focused on creating a supportive environment where women could gain technical skills and hands-on experience. Our journey began with support from the Society for Self Employment for Unemployed Youth—a West Bengal Government initiative—which sponsored our initial vocational training program in Paper Bag Making. This training helped women take their first step towards self-employment and environmental sustainability.
In recent years, our efforts have been further strengthened through the collaboration with the West Bengal Women Development Undertaking (WBWDU). With their financial support and expert guidance, we have conducted multiple training sessions in the Ready-Made Garment trade. These sessions have equipped women with sewing, tailoring, and garment-making skills, empowering them to work from home or start small businesses.
Having successfully completed three training batches, we are now preparing to launch the fourth training schedule at our center. Many of the trained women have already begun earning an income, contributing to their family’s finances and boosting their confidence. A few have even established small enterprises, becoming role models in their communities.
Our mission continues—to build a resilient, self-reliant rural society by empowering women through education, training, and opportunity.
